Stuffed French Toast

What You'll Need

For the Filling

  • 1 package Culcherd Original Cheese
  • 2 tbsp favourite fruit preserves/jam 

For the French Toast

  • 1 loaf sourdough bread, sliced 1 ½-2 inches thick
  • 1 cup non-dairy milk
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 sticks Culcherd Original Butter

How To

For the Filling

  • In a medium sized bowl, mix together Original cheese and fruit preserves.

For the French Toast

  • For each slice of bread, cut a 3 inch pocket through the top crust. 
  • Fill each pocket with 1 tbsp of filling.
  • In a shallow dish, combine non-dairy milk, chia seeds, maple and cinnamon. 
  • Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Dip the stuffed toast in milk mixture, coating both sides.
  • Cook for about 4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
  • Repeat with remaining slices of bread.

 

For Assembly

  • Slice each piece in half and garnish with additional preserves, more butter and maple syrup.
